ARCADIS AYH Wins BCO top regional honours for office building

ARCADIS AYH plc project and cost managed, provided CDM co-ordination, business integration and move management services for the award winning fit out of Provident International's offices in City Office Park in Leeds.  The building won the British Council for Offices (BCO) Best Fit Out of Workplace award, at their annual awards ceremony.

A specialist Corporate Accommodation team comprising of members of ARCADIS AYH's Leeds and Manchester offices, lead this project from start to finish, including selecting and briefing designers, controlling costs and delivering the refurbishment on time and within budget.

This was one of four of ARCADIS AYH's projects to reach the finals, where over 1,500 property professionals gathered to celebrate design, best practice and innovation in the active UK office sector and to witness the building win the North of England, North Wales and Northern Ireland regional award in the Fit-out of Workplace category.

In giving the regional honours, the judges praised ARCADIS AYH, for responding to the brief with panache, despite the challenges posed by an awkwardly configured base building.  They commented: "On visiting this building it became quickly apparent that huge attention was paid to the detail; this is evident everywhere from the light above the reception desk through to the café and the dynamic view over Leeds. The surroundings are very cool and low key, which is a fitting backcloth to the work that takes place in the building."
Mark O'Brien, Executive Director at ARCADIS AYH comments: "We relished the challenge of working on this project, and the recognition we have received is testament to the skills and experience we enjoy in our Leeds and Manchester Corporate Accommodation teams.  This building is truly unique, and it took careful and innovative planning on ARCADIS AYH's part, due to the relatively short 11 week time frame, to facilitate the completion of such a ground-breaking design."

The British Council for Offices Awards, now in their sixteenth year, are presented to projects in six categories: Corporate Workplace, Commercial Workplace, Refurbished/Recycled Workplace, Fit-out of Workplace, Small Projects and Innovation.
