ARCADIS AYH undertaken to roll out master plan at Fontwell Race Course

Northern Racing Group, owner of nine race courses across the UK and recently purchased by Reuben Brothers, has chosen ARCADIS AYH, as project manager and cost consultant, to deliver a redevelopment programme at Fontwell Park Racecourse in West Sussex.
Ian Smith, Executive Director at ARCADIS AYH said: "This is a significant and strategic move for ARCADIS AYH.  Our specialism lies in delivering sports stadia, including the award winning Emirates Stadium and the acclaimed sustainable Dartford Football Club.  In working with NRG we will not only provide them with the benefit of our knowledge on a wide and range of projects, but in broadening our experience to include other sporting facilities, we enhance the expertise our clients will benefit from in future."
Fontwell Park is undoubtedly one of the most intimate and friendly racecourses in the country and ARCADIS AYH will seek to maintain this atmosphere as they work through the improvements to the site.
ARCADIS AYH has been integral in driving the project by undertaking a masterplan, and has appointed EPR as the architects on the scheme.  The first phase of this plan has already commenced seeing the construction of a new parade ring and a new winners enclosure.  Phase 2 will see the development of new boxes and hospitality suites to the premier enclosure, which are set to be completed by early next year.
Marc Hewett, Project Leader for Fontwell on the ARCADIS AYH team comments: "Fontwell Park is a premier hospitality venue in the South.  This is an interesting project, its success will be dependent upon striking a balance between providing new first class facilities for race go-ers to enjoy, and carefully maintaining the course's charm and character which makes it so unique and gives the course its enviable reputation."
ARCADIS AYH has also been appointed to work on other projects across the Northern Racing Group's portfolio.
